People ask all the time why study the Spanish language? My answer is precise. You want to expand your horizons and your learning. Everyone prefers a well rounded person as opposed to someone who is completely specialized in just one area of life. There are many millions of people in the world who speak Spanish. That number is only going to go one way, up. Perhaps you know a few Spanish speaking folks in your area. Wouldn't it be nice to talk with them and show them your Spanish skills?
Out of all the people you know, how many of them can speak fluent Spanish? Can you imagine your status among the family and friends if you knew how to speak a second language fluenty? Maybe Spanish is not your second language. Perhaps you already know more than one language. Make this your third, fourth, or fifth then.
Learning the Spanish language does not have to be antagonizing. It does have to be painful nor does it have to be discouraging. Learning a new language is an extremely fun experience. You have the power of knowledge in your hands. You can communicate with parts of the world you never were able to before.
There are over 400 million people in 20 different countries who speak Spanish. This is about the equivalent of the population of the United States. Next to English, Spanish is the most used language. We have Spain, Mexico, Argentina, and all of the countries in South America. Not to mention parts of Europe as well. Spanish is definately a big player in the world's speaking list.
With a flood of Spanish speaking people coming into North America, now is the time to learn the language. When you are not able to communicate with co-workers, friends, and acquantices, you have nothing. Communication is key in every aspect of life, be it English, French, Spanish, or any language. You must learn to effectively converse with the people around you.
You can also gain a good understand of your own language by speaking another. I know this may sound a little odd, but it is true. Many of our own words are derived from Latin and other foreign languages. This is a great way to look back at your heritage and see just why we speak the way we do.
One of the most important reasons to learn Spanish is for your own travels around the globe. Have you ever thought about travelling somewhere outside of North America? You have to know how to speak the language of the country you are going to. It is only logical. Whether you are going to visit Spain, Mexico, or any southern America country, you have to know Spanish.
Why study Spanish? How about for a job? The market is in great need of people who can speak Spanish. This is another great reason to start learning today. You have a chance of getting hired over someone who only speaks one language. You will look sharp and professional. You will also show your employer you are motivated to do things on your own.
